PES+C is a passive filtration media designed to remove color-causing organic compounds such as tannins, humic acids, and fulvic acids from water. The system combines aluminum-based water treatment residuals (WTRs) with proprietary carbon-rich amendments that create a powerful adsorption matrix. As organic molecules pass through the media, their negatively charged compounds are attracted to and bound by the positively charged media, while the carbon component enhances the adsorption of dissolved organic matter.
This natural, chemical-free process can remove up to 80% of color from tannin-rich waters, producing clearer water with improved ultraviolet transmittance for downstream treatment applications. Because the contaminants are physically and chemically bound within the media, PES+C provides reliable, long-term color removal in a compact, passive system with no chemical addition and minimal maintenance.

Industry-Leading Removal Rates:*
- Total color: 80% PCU
- TOC: 40%
*Based on removal over 10-year project lifetime

Performance Specification
